Are we living in the last days?

To answer that question we need to look at another time in which humanity experienced the Judgment of God, when the world that they knew was destroyed.

Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Gen 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Mankind's wickedness Grieves God.

Because mankind is intended to reflect the image of God. Colossians 1:16 declares that all things were created BY HIM AND FOR HIM.

But in the days of Noah, all of humanity got so caught up in their selfishness, that they reflected the image of the one who did not create them, but who seduced them into following his ways instead of God's ways.

It's the same way with mankind today. Through pursuing their own selfish ways, they are given over to wickedness, turning their thoughts, and their hearts to that which is not of God. It grieves the God of all creation that His creation would turn their back on Him, and pursue after one whose intentions are only to kill, steal and destroy those who bear God's image.

We see that Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord. We see that Noah was a just man. This means that Noah had a mind to pursue after God. Noah understood that he bore the image of God. Noah refused to partake in the wicked imaginations of the rest of mankind, and he made a conscious choice to adhere to the Will of God for his life, rather than to yield to his own selfish desires. As such, Noah found GRACE in the eyes of the Lord.

But as for the rest of humanity, we see that the Bible says that it repented God that He had made them.

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

This word translated as "repented" from the Hebrew, while it can be translated as "regret", also carries with it the meaning of having compassion. In God's destruction of every wicked man, woman and child that dwelt on the earth in Noah's day, God was demonstrating His compassion to Noah by removing the contaminating influence that would pose a danger to his offspring.

It would be similar to having a herd of cattle that is being consumed by some incurable disease. The rancher has a small group of cattle that have not yet caught the disease. He destroys the cattle that are carrying the disease, quarantines the ones who are still healthy, and takes measures to cleanse the land of any trace of that contamination. In Noah's day, the contamination was the wickedness of man.

But there was a small group of precious souls who had not yet been defiled. God put them in quarantine in the ark, and destroyed the contaminating influence, and cleansed the land by the flood. Baptism is a type of this very thing occurring in a person's life.

The Word of God says that in the last days, things would progress to just as it was in Noah's day…the wickedness of man would become so great that God will eventually have compassion on those who have chosen righteousness over wickedness.

Are these the last days? You be the Judge of that.

Consider the wickedness in this world. The Bible says there would be a time when men would call good evil, and evil good.

There is great opposition to Christianity throughout the world today. In almost every country in the third world, Christians are being slaughtered for their beliefs. Men and women are being killed for the sake of Christ. Even in the so called "free" world, Christianity is being billed as an intolerant, close minded religion. A small minority of people are trying to remove any reference of God from our country's institutions.

Look at what Jesus said about the last days:

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Mat
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Everything was going on as usual in the days of Noah. People were getting married, eating and drinking…and they didn't realize that the Day was upon them until the flood came and destroyed them. Jesus said that will be how it is just before He comes back.

There will be a departing from the faith, and an embracing of doctrine or teaching other than that which is the Word of God.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

Homosexuality is being embraced in Churches that profess to be Christian. But the Bible says in Leviticus 20:13 that Homosexuality is an abomination before God. And the Bible says that ALL sexual sin is a sin against God that needs to be repented of.

There's a doctrine out there that says it doesn't matter what you do, just say the prayer, and you'll be in. But salvation isn't a matter of just saying the right words…it is a matter of having the right heart before God. In Revelation 2:23, and Heb 4:12, the Word of God tells us that God searches and judges the heart of a person.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

1Ch 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever.

God is not mocked. The person who thinks he can fool God by saying one thing and livin another way, stands against Him, and will find himself standing before Him on the Day of Judgment, andcrying out for mercy.

Romans 10:9-10 gives the proper formula:

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Our salvation is a heart issue. God, Who knows the heart of a man or a woman, looks beyond the words that are spoken, and into the heart. A person who truly believes in their heart that Jesus Christ is Way to Heaven will make a conscious decision to live for Him according to His Will. "I know I need to change the way I am living, and I need to start living for Jesus."

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Let's look at some more indications at what it will be like in the last days:

1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Some professing Christianity teach that to serve God in ministry you need to swear to remain single all your life. Others teach that God wants you to be a vegetarian, or that you can't eat meat on a certain day or during a certain time.

1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer There are other indications of what it will be like in the last days.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Remember how it was in the days of Noah when men were consumed with their own selfish desires rather than following after the things of God? How they had given themselves over to the enemy of their soul and became consumed by wickedness?

The first description of humanity in the last days will be that they are lovers of their own selves…the rest that follows is what happens when we are in pursuit of our own selfish desires:
We become covetous- we are always wanting more than what we have. Advertisers thrive off of our covetous natures. We become boasters… "I," "me", and "myself" are the predominant words in our vocabulary. We boast because we are consumed by pride.
Because of that self nature, we become blasphemers, taking the Name of God in vain in our normal conversation, and by simply denying our need for Him, we end up blaspheming. Many religions today teach that we can become gods or are already gods. That is another form of blasphemy.
The youth of today are so in love with themselves, that they reject the counsel of their parents, and disrespect them, going their own way, instead of submitting to their parents. As a result, there is an epidemic of kids having babies, sexual transmitted diseases among the youth, kids killing kids.
Because of the selfishness of humanity, their lives are reflected in unthankfulness. Most households just serve up the meal without giving God thanks for providing it. At most feeding programs people will take what is given them, and then complain about what they were given.
The word translated as" unholy" is more like wicked. Just as it was in the days of Noah.
They will not have natural affection…They will be cold hearted, turning deaf ears to pleas for help because they don't want to get involved, or because "Nothing's in it for me..." But "without natural affection" also means homosexuality, or hopping from one bed to the next, just living for whatever pleasure they can obtain as long as it gratifies the flesh.
It used to be that when a man gave his word it meant something. I have even seen men who profess to be men of their word break their oral contract with others.
False accusers. Selfish people prefer pointing at other people's faults rather than their own.
Incontinent. Without self control. Being dominated by their selfish desires, rather than giving their lives over to the Will of God. This is personified in the different kindsof addiction that people wrestle with.
Fierce- savage.
Despisers of those that are good.
Traiters- Betrayers; brothers against brothers, friends against friends.
Heady: rash, reckless
Highminded : Thinking you're something when you are not.
Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God…

As a result of this selfishness that will pervade the world in the last days, people will mock the Word of God, and the idea that Jesus Christ is coming back:

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

Jud 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; Jud 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. Jud 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Is there any hope for this world in these troubled times?

As long as we are living, there is hope. Even if this is not the time of the Last days, if a person dies today, it is the Last Day for him or her. In Heb 9:27, the Bible says:

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The Bible has much to say about HOPE. When we are without Christ, we are without hope, because we are without Jesus Christ.

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But when we come to Jesus, we become His chidren, and recieve the most blessed hope.

Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.

When we come to Him, He gives us peace in the midst of our adversity. He Is an Ever Present Help in time of trouble. He beckons to us to cast our cares upon Him, because He truly cares for us. But the Christian's hope is beyond this life, which brings us to the next question set before us:

Is there Life after Death?

1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

1 Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Because of sin, death came into this world, but it was never intended for us to taste of death. God created us to be immortal beings.

1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Once death has visited this mortal body and this body has been planted in the ground, then the immortality of your spirit will will be made manifest, and you will find yourself clothed with a new body, a celestial body.

1Co 15:32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.
1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 1Co 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
1Co 15:36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
1Co 15:37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
1Co 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
1Co 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
1Co 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
1Co 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

Seeing as how we are raised an immortal soul, we need to remember that the Word says that we are going to die, and then stand before he Almighty God in Judgment. The prescription for this coming Judgment is found in 1 Corinthians 15:34:

1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

But you might ask: How do I awake to righteousness and sin not? I am having a problem with my life. It seems that the things I want to do I don't do, and the things that I know I shouldn't do, I find myself doing.

The reason why you have such a struggle is that there is a war going on in your life, and your flesh is struggling against your spirit, and you are for the most part powerless against it. To be an over-comer, you need to be Born Again.

What does it mean to be Born Again?

In John 3:3, a religious leader of the Jews, a man named Nicodemus came to Jesus, and was told that he needed to be "Born from above", or, as the King James puts it, "Born again", otherwise, Jesus said, Nicodemus would never enter into the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus asked Jesus how a man once grown old could be born again. He said, a man once grown old couldn't enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born again could he?

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Jesus said "Except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God."

This is speaking about two births. The first time we are born, we are born of the water…the fetus develops inside a watery environment for nine months, and then when the time has come, the water breaks, and the baby is delivered, born into a fleshly existence, and guided by the fleshly senses. Jesus said that which is Flesh is flesh, but that which is spirit is spirit, and we are not to marvel that Jesus said we must be born from above.

Generally, because we are born in this flesh, the choices we make are guided by our fleshly desires. If it feels good or sounds good, we do it. If it looks good, we allow our eyes to take it in, and if it tastes good, we partake of it, and a lot of the time, our decision to follow the dictates of our flesh results in sin.

The Bible says that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that the wages of sin is death. This flesh of ours gets us into trouble. That's why we need to be Born Again, of the Spirit of God. We do this by inviting Jesus Christ into our hearts, to rule and reign in our lives.

YOU SEE, contrary to popular opinion we are NOT all children of God. We are His Creation, and He intends for us to be His children, subject to His Guidance and His Fatherhood in our lives. If we reject this, the Bible defines us as the enemies of God, shaking our fists at Him and telling Him we don't want Him to rule over us.

Only those who invite Him to be the Lord of their lives and receive Jesus Christ into their hearts can be called the children of God, and have the right to inherit the Kingdom of God (John 1:12). Those who reject Jesus Christ are Not the Children of God, and are by choice enemies of God, and as such, will receive the sentence of Hell for eternity, because they are immortal souls.

Is there really a heaven and Hell?

Many people accept the idea that there is a heaven, but many of those who believe in heaven have a difficult time accepting a literal hell where their souls will suffer in eternal torment forever and ever.

They reason that if God is a loving God, He wouldn't condemn a person to a place of eternal torment. God IS a loving God. That's why the Bible tells us that familiar verse, John 3:16:

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Indeed, the next verse tells us that God does not desire to condemn the world, but instead, he made a provision so that the world through Him might be saved:

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The person who has believed in Jesus Christ from the heart is not condemned.

But those who reject Him are condemned, because they reject the Provision that God made for them, Jesus Christ, the Only begotten Son of God:

Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The reason people reject Jesus is because they love darkness, rather than light. They love their sin more than they love God.

Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

An eternal being that chooses to live in rebellion against God chooses to pay the consequence for his sin: Separation from God.

The choice is laid before us: To come to the light or to remain in darkness. It is better to turn from sin than to spend eternity in Hell.

Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Mar 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Jesus told a story about a rich man and a beggar.

Luk 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: Luk 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
Luk 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Luk 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
Luk 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Luk 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
Luk 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

There was a man named Lazarus who Jesus raised from the dead. Rather than listen to this man Lazarus, the religious leaders sought to kill him, because people were beginning to follow Jesus as a result of Lazarus' testimony.

Christ rose from the dead. History records that He was seen after His resurrection by over 500 people. But people still reject the fact that He is the only way to Heaven. If you are a self declared enemy of God who has chosen to refuse to conform to the Will of God, what more do you deserve other than to be cast into Hell?

God loves you despite the fact that you are a vile sinner. But if you reject Him and the Light He wants to bring you to, He has no choice but to cast you into Hell on the Day of Judgment.

He is a Righteous God. He didn't have any mercy on the angels that sinned,,. Why do you think He would have more mercy on you who reject Him and rebel against Him?

2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds);
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Jesus Christ paid the penalty for your sin. He came and died in your place so you could have eternal life with Him. He has the Keys of Hell and death. Will you despise His Government and reject His Lordship over your life?

Rev 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

The times we are living in may very well be the Last Days...Or...this world could go on for another 100 years or more. But the question you should be asking yourself is AM I BORN AGAIN? IF TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY ON EARTH, DO I KNOW FOR A CERTAINTY THAT I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN WITH THE ONE WHO CREATED ME TO LIVE WITH HIM IN ETERNITY?

Lord Jesus, I confess before You that I am a sinner, and I acknowledge my need of Your Presence in my life. Lord, I desire to be Born again of Your Spirit. I believe that You died to take my sins upon Yourself, and that You rose again on the third day to give me Hope of Eternal life. Please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart, Lord, and help me to live for You from now on...I will not be ashamed to proclaim to all that Jesus Christ is my Lord. Amen.
