MORE LIES THAT HINDER A PERSON FROM SPENDING ETERNITY WITH GOD

LIE #4: THERE IS NO HELL

Just as the Bible tells us that the fool says in his heart that there is no God, so it is a foolish person indeed who lives his or her life as if there is no hell.

God made mankind in His image. Just as God is the Creator, mankind creates things. God created all things out of nothing, but man is not infinite, so he creates things out of materials which already exist.

God is the Ruler of the Universe. Mankind has rulers, presidents, kings, emporers, tzars, chiefs, governors, prime ministers...our societies are set up around some form of government.

God is a Righteous Judge. Humanity world wide is governed by laws and penalties for breaking those laws. Though those penalties vary widely, depending on what culture you are in, the fact is, that there is a universal principle of Law. Breaking those laws result in varying degrees of punishment.

So, God is the Judge of all Judges. He is the Righteous Judge. He has set a standard, and that standard is found in His Son Jesus. If we break His Law which says that we need to be Born Again, then we are shaking our fist at the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords, and there is a place to which all who reject Him will be sent, to the Lake of Fire.

Understand that God takes no delight in sending anyone to the Lake of fire. He went to great lengths to redeem us from the threat of Hell.

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (KJV)

He has warned us that there is eternal torment there, weeping and gnashing of teeth.

He created the lake of fire for the devil and his angels. (Matt. 25:41) Never was it intended for any of humanity.

But all who willingly reject God’s free gift of eternal life choose willingly to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. There is no party there. Nothing but torment. People willingly forfeit eternity in the presence of God, in exchange for an eternity of Hell and torment because they love sin rather than righteousness.

To say there is no Hell is akin to closing your eyes, and saying there is no sun. You can say it all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that there really is a sun.

Another lie that goes with the lie that says there is no hell is that a loving God would not send a person to hell.

As we read already, Hell was never intended for humanity. It was prepared for the devil and his angels.

If you choose to reject God, and submit to the will of the devil through sin, then you choose to follow their path down the broad and slippery road to Hell.

What a terrible way to waste your life, to gamble on your assumptions that there is no Hell, and then to spend eternity realizing you were wrong.

Jesus asked a question that bears consideration:

Mark 8:36
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (KJV)

LIE #5:

I’M A GOOD PERSON, I DO MORE GOOD THAN BAD

 

Isa 64:6
6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV)

Isa 53:6
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (KJV)

Rom 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)

No amount of good deeds can ever reserve for us a place in the presence of the True and living God. The God Who created all things is Pure and Spotless, Holy and Eternal. To think that we could ever enter into His presence on our own merit is pure folly.

But in His Goodness, Jesus paid the way for us.

Oh, the wonders of His Mercy and Grace!

YOUR GOODNESS CANNOT GET YOU TO HEAVEN, BUT HIS GOODNESS CAN! THE ARM OF THE LORD, THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, EMPTIED HIMSELF OF HIS DEITY AND CAME AS A MAN HIMSELF TO FULFILL THE PENALTY OF SIN FOR ALL MANKIND.

JUST AS THE FIRST MAN, ADAM, SINNED, AND THROUGH HIS FALL WE HAVE ALL GONE ASTRAY, SO JESUS CAME AS THE SECOND ADAM, THAT THROUGH HIS DEATH, WE ALL MAY OBTAIN LIFE. THAT’S WHY HE PAID THE PRICE IN YOUR PLACE.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT HIS FREE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE!

 

LIE #6:

“SOMEDAY I WILL COME TO JESUS, BUT FIRST I NEED TO CLEAN UP MY ACT...”

The whole purpose of God’s plan to redeem mankind through the Work of Jesus, is because He understands our weaknesses, and our tendancy to lean toward sin:

Ps 103:10-14
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. (KJV)

So many people fail to comprehend the Love and the mercy of God.

2 Pet 3:9

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)

You are powerless to clean up your act to sufficiently be worthy of God’s grace. The previous entry (LIES THAT HINDER #5) has established that fact.

That’s why we need a Saviour...to save us from our sins.

The blind man cried out to Jesus to heal him, because he knew he couldn’t heal himself. The lepers cried out to Jesus for the same reason, as did any who came to Him, and who still come to Him. Only by Grace are we saved...but we need to humble ourselves and acknowledge our need, and surrender our wills to Him.
