RUSS GAGNARD OF METAIRIE, LA. WRITES:

Subject: Praise Report

Several months ago after a Promise Keepers event I felt a strong call to get involved in the Lighthouse movement. That's a ministry that encourages you to pray for 10 houses across the street and 5 on each side. Then go to each house, let them know you are a Christian and you are praying for them.

Suzanne and I felt that God was prompting us to get to know the neighbors on our block so we could eventually minister to them. The same Lighthouse outcome with a different approach.

So we planned an outreach event for Sunday Sept 5.

We made invitations, prayed and visited the 40 houses on our block. We went out on Sundays, as a family. We talked to all but about 5 of the families and invited them. We cooked hamburgers and hot dogs, rented a space walk water slide for the kids and God sent about 25 of our neighbors including there kids. Our Joy groups helped out, cooking, making name tags and talking to the neighbors. We got to know some of them and earned the right to invite them to other events or Joy groups. I praise God for being faithful and drawing people. Please pray for our neighbors that God will give us opportunities to lead them to Christ.

In Christ
