AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH...

ARE THESE THE DAYS THAT JESUS WAS SPEAKING OF?

PART ONE

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

IN LUKE 17, Jesus said that in the days preceding His Second Coming, the earth would be like it was in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot.

Exceeding wickedness will cover the face of the earth, and in those days, people will be carrying on like they always do, eating and drinking, getting married, buying and selling, planting, and building.

Just as it was in the days of Noah and of Lot, people will give little attention to the Almighty God, and His Will for their lives.

And just as it was in the days of Noah and Lot, in ONE DAY, the Wrath of God will rain down upon the wicked, and will destroy them all. What a terrible day that will be! According to the Word of God, the wicked shall be suddenly consumed by the Wrath of the Almighty God.

God, Who formed the Heavens and the Earth by His Word, will return with a fiery Sword that proceeds from His Mouth, which is His Word (see Ephesians 6:17; Heb 4:12), and shall in THAT DAY destroy the wicked from off the face of the earth. He will speak and the nations shall be smitten before His Face, and they shall be cast into the Great Winepress of the Wrath of the Almighty God. All who have rejected Him as the King of kings and the Lord of lords will be consumed by the fire of His Wrath.

In the Hand of the Creator of all things are life and death. To all humanity He has given the option to choose Life. Those who have rejected His Offer of Eternal Life will taste of His Fierce and Awesome Wrath in that Great and notable Day of the Lord.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

In THAT DAY, the beast and the false prophet will be taken in a moment, and thrown alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone, and all who had followed them and had chosen to oppose the Lord will be slain with a single Word, by the Sword that proceeds out of the Mouth of the Lord.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

We read these accounts, and give little thought to the fate of those who have been deceived by the false prophet and the beast. We just look up in the heavens with an expectant collective sigh of relief that we will not experience the torment that those who have been deceived will experience.

We look forward to our thousand year reign with Christ. We look forward to that day when there will be no more tears or no more pain for us.

We give little thought to the period of time when the dead stand before the Judgment Throne of God upon the second resurrection, and when they are judged according to their works, and cast into the lake of fire that was reserved for the devil and his angels.

In the next study, we will see what awaits those who have been deceived by the devil and the false prophet.
